Andy Fisher (he/him) co-founded and served as Executive Director of the Community Food Security Coalition (CFSC) for 17 years. During that time, he played a lead role in gaining the inclusion and expansion of the Community Food Projects Competitive Grants Program in multiple farm bills. He ran training and technical assistance programs for the CFP for 16 years, as well as for USDA Risk Management Agency, Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the California Department of Health Services. He has authored numerous guidebooks on various aspects of community food security and provided assistance on such initiatives as food banking, food policy councils, farmers markets, urban agriculture, community food assessments, and farm to school. After leaving CFSC, he has continued to provide technical assistance to over 100 CFP applicants through New Entry, ], and served as the Executive Director of the Ecological Farming Association through 2023. Andy also
wrote a groundbreaking book on the hunger industrial complex [Big Hunger: The Unholy Alliance Between Anti-Hunger Groups and Corporate America.
